Forgot to mention this to those of you who were over yesterday for Easter but I meant to tell a little sappy story.
Back when Dad was sick and in his last days, Grandma was here in Texas and needed something of his to hold on to. For some reason she chose a bag of nails he had fairly recently purchased at Arlington Hardware. She grabbed them and after all was said and done, took them home to New Jersey.
Many years later for reasons she never really explained, she gave them back to me and told me how she got them. Well, I've managed to hold on to them all these years too. The old brown Arlington Hardware bag has long since disintegrated but I still have them.
Now to put a little bit of Dad and Grandma into our home I'm finally using them. On the renovation of our Master bathroom. Makes me feel a little closer to both of them.
